Ascendant Black Dragon

A design for a type of dragon in the universe I've built around dragons. The black dragon coven is a group of dragons responsible for death and shadow. They reap the souls of the living who's time is deemed by fate to come to an end; their culture is one of deceit and manipulation giving them a reputation as being manipulative and evil. While they're certainly not benign in the slightest, black dragons are an important force in the world and are deeply respected regardless of their foul reputations.

An ascendant in the black dragon coven is a dragon that embodies their essence so deeply that it strengthens and shapes them; this black dragon type becomes a creature of void with skeletal markings and powers of darkness. These are often royals among dragons as only the eldest and strongest dragons can become ascendant in nature.
